Windhoek, Oct 8 –Viewers can look forward to six feature films that will be aired every Sunday evening from 6 October 2024 at 20:00 on kykNET & kie DStv channel 145). Dubbel moeilikheid, Speel aan, Die rooftog, Ataman, !Dhina Boys and Lubinda form part of MultiChoice Namibia’s Ombura Project.
Muneera Sallies, a supervising producer for M-Net’s Premium Channels, says they provided continuous mentorship to the various filmmakers through the Ombura Project.
“Throughout the process, we held workshops and provided training in every department, including scriptwriting, directing, acting and all the technical aspects. Our goal was to empower these filmmakers with a comprehensive holistic approach to tell their own stories about their communities and people authentically, while also showcasing the incredible beauty and talent of Namibia,” says Muneera.
Roger Gertze, Managing Director of MultiChoice Namibia, can’t wait to share their unique stories.
“MultiChoice Namibia is the largest funder of local content in the country. We showcase content in local languages with local actors and tell stories that culturally resonate. As Africa’s most beloved storyteller, we are excited to soon share our unique stories on our platforms DStv, GOtv, and Showmax, and to continue in this way to proudly show Namibia to the world,” says Roger.
