Nandi-Ndaitwah Urges Local Businesses to Tap into Major Investments

By African Youth Newsroom

Windhoek, Nov 5 — President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on Namibian businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to actively participate in major investment projects and benefit from the economic opportunities they create.

The President made the call following the groundbreaking ceremony of the Dangote Namibia Tank Farm and Regional Pipeline Project in Walvis Bay on 4 November 2026, where she engaged members of the local business community in an interactive discussion.

The engagement provided a platform for local entrepreneurs to raise concerns, share experiences and explore ways of positioning their businesses to participate in the multi-million-dollar investment.

Discussions focused on opportunities in construction, transport, logistics, engineering and related services, with emphasis on strengthening local business capacity, technical expertise and strategic partnerships.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah stressed that Namibian businesses should not remain spectators to major developments taking place in their communities but should become active participants and beneficiaries.

She also highlighted the importance of removing barriers to investment while ensuring that large-scale projects contribute to job creation, skills development and the growth of local enterprises.

The engagement forms part of the Government’s broader efforts to ensure that major investments translate into meaningful economic opportunities for Namibians and support the country’s long-term development.
