Windhoek, February 16 – Nedbank Namibia has announced its 2026 pricing adjustments, effective 2 March 2026, emphasizing affordability, transparency, and financial inclusion under its #GetMoneyFit initiative. Victor Maengahama, Chief Financial Officer, described the changes as a commitment to helping Namibians build financial fitness “much like an athlete training with purpose.”
Launched last year, the #GetMoneyFit campaign equips customers with tools for confident money management amid public debates on banking fees. Maengahama noted that national fee comparisons highlight the need for cost clarity to boost digital transactions and reduce cash reliance.
Key reductions target everyday banking pressures:
– Basic Bank account local debit card swipe fees cut by 17%.
– Youth account internet banking subscription fees eliminated entirely.
– Silver Pay-As-You-Use (PAYU) account: 13% drop in local debit card swipe fees, 18% in internet banking fees, plus embedded N$5,000 funeral cover.
– Internal debit order fees significantly lowered to ease monthly bills like rent and utilities.
– Personal loan administration fees now tiered, starting at N$500 minimum for lower-income clients.
New additions include a nominal home loan monthly maintenance fee, in line with industry standards, to fund secure systems and service quality. A portion of home and vehicle finance fees supports the Nedbank Go Green Fund, backing conservation and development projects.
These updates, reviewed annually for competitiveness, allow Nedbank to invest in digital innovation while sustaining high quality service. “Fair pricing supports long-term resilience,” Maengahama said, tying it to the campaign’s call for disciplined financial habits.
