Windhoek, May 11 — Telecommunications Ltd (MTC) in Windhoek, Namibia has announced the awarding of bursaries to six students for the 2026 academic year, as part of its ongoing bursary scheme. The recipients include four new students and two continuing students, pursuing courses in fields like Accounting, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and Business Information Systems at the University of Namibia (UNAM), Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), and the International University of Management (IUM). The new beneficiaries are Anastasia Twamoneni (UNAM), Christian Amukwa (UNAM), Meinhold Muyenga (NUST), and Lyuvika Amadhila (UNAM). Continuing students Kadischa Wasserfall (IUM) and Willryna Basson (NUST) are also supported.
MTC has allocated N$1.5 million for the 2025/26 financial year to this initiative, underscoring its commitment to supporting education for students facing financial difficulties. Erasmus Nekundi, a former bursary recipient and now MTC’s Corporate Communications Specialist, congratulated the beneficiaries and highlighted potential employment opportunities at MTC post-graduation. Since the program’s inception, MTC has invested N$5.7 million in supporting tertiary education for talented Namibian students.
