Windhoek, October 28 — Namibia has once again achieved international acclaim! The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) has announced that the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) is the winner of the WAIPA Investment Excellence Awards 2025 in the Innovative Investment Promotion Campaign category.
This esteemed award was presented during the WAIPA World Investment Conference held recently in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The WAIPA Investment Excellence Awards recognise the vital and strategic contributions of Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) throughout the entire investment lifecycle from promotion and facilitation to aftercare and advocacy.
NIPDB earned this accolade for its outstanding efforts in promoting Green Hydrogen as a promising investment sector in Namibia. The award celebrates successful strategic coordination aimed at attracting investment in a specific sector, including creating promotional materials, identifying potential investors, facilitating investor visits, and maintaining effective investor engagement.
The NIPDB proudly accepts this award on behalf of Namibia, expressing sincere thanks to all public and private sector partners whose ongoing support and collaboration were instrumental in this success.
This honour highlights global recognition of NIPDB’s innovative and agile approach to investment facilitation and promotion. Previously, in 2023, NIPDB won the ‘Best FDI Project’ award for the Kelp Blue initiative at the Annual Investment Meeting. Additionally, in 2024, the NIPDB was the runner-up in the World Trade Promotion Organization (WTPO) Awards for the “Best Initiative to Ensure that Trade is Inclusive and Sustainable.”
