On November 15, 2025, the Republic of Namibia gathered in solemn remembrance to honor the life and legacy of the late Kuku Petra Nakwenye Aluvilu Ameya of the Ohama Yaashuunda community in the Omusati Region. The funeral service, held at Anamulenge Church, was marked by heartfelt tributes led by Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of Namibia.
Kuku Petra, a mother and matriarch whose life spanned nine decades, was celebrated as a pillar of faith and resilience. Her life story is one of unwavering spirit and kindness, a beacon of strength whose impact was deeply felt by family, friends, and community alike. Guided by a steadfast Christian faith, she lived humbly, uplifted others, and anchored her life in values that continue to inspire. Her departure leaves a profound silence where once stood a woman of wisdom and guidance.
The President reflected on Kuku Petra’s generation—a group of mothers who bore the weight of Namibia’s history with courage and compassion. Through simple acts of service, prayer, and counsel, she strengthened the moral and spiritual fabric of her community. As a mother, she nurtured a leader now serving Namibia with dedication, exemplifying the discipline, love, and faith that she instilled.
In commemorating her life, the nation finds comfort in her graceful journey and enduring legacy. Her memory serves as a powerful reminder of the strength found in faith, humility, and motherly love.
On behalf of the SWAPO Party, the Namibian government, and the people, deepest condolences were extended to the Shaningwa and Aluvilu families and the Ohama Yaashuunda community.
