Windhoek, 28 July – China’s Ambassador to Namibia, today briefed the media on the outcomes of Namibian President ‘s recent State Visit to China, announcing that Namibia and China have elevated their bilateral relations to a Community with a Shared Future for the New Era.
His Excellency Ambassador Zhao Weiping said ”the milestone reflects the strong political trust and enduring friendship between the two countries. He noted that both Heads of State reached an important consensus on advancing China–Namibia cooperation across all sectors, providing strategic guidance for the long-term development of bilateral relations.”
According to Ambassador Zhao, President Xi Jiping put forward three key proposals for building a China–Namibia Community with a Shared Future for the New Era:
To firmly support each other and deepen the convergence of the two countries’ development visions.
To unlock the full potential of practical cooperation and elevate collaboration to higher levels.
To strengthen solidarity and coordination in safeguarding multilateralism and promoting shared global development.
Ambassador Zhao added that both Heads of State highly commended the fruitful outcomes of the State Visit, which were reflected in the Joint Statement issued at the conclusion of the visit. Several bilateral cooperation agreements were also signed, covering areas of mutual interest and reinforcing the commitment of both countries to deepen their strategic partnership.
The elevation of relations marks a significant new chapter in China–Namibia ties and is expected to further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure, technology, education, healthcare, and people-to-people exchanges for the mutual benefit of both nations.
