Windhoek, June 24 – The Public Enterprise CEO Forum is ready to host its annual high-level engagement on 23 July 2025 in Walvis Bay, bringing together Chief Executive Officers from across Namibia’s public enterprise sector.
This year’s convening carries even greater national significance as it will be graced by the presence of Her Excellency, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, underscoring the strategic importance of public enterprises in driving national development. Formed in 2017 and registered under Section 21 of the Companies Act, the Public Enterprise CEO Forum serves as a platform for collaboration, capacity building, and
the reinforcement of effective corporate governance across Namibia’s state-owned entities.
As part of a strategic shift, the 2025 Forum will introduce a renewed focus on Corporate Social Investment (CSI) by exploring avenues to inject funds into meaningful social impact projects, with the commitment amount still to be determined.
This initiative on traditional CSI efforts reflects the Forum’s vision of being not just a governance platform, but also a catalyst for change in communities.
The deputy chairperson of the CEO forum, Ms Toska Sem, highlighted her excitement about the upcoming forum. “The Public Enterprises Forum is undoubtedly the biggest and most anticipated gathering of CEOs across our sector. It’s a rare opportunity for leaders to come together, share notes, and collectively chart a stronger course for our enterprises. Excitement is building in the air, and I can confidently say the Forum is ready. We look forward to meaningful engagements that will shape the future of public enterprise leadership in Namibia” she said.
In addition to the conference, the Forum will host its annual sports games from July 25 to 27, 2025, providing a space for networking, camaraderie, and staff wellness through sports. These games have consistently drawn extensive participation and continue to serve as a symbol of unity and cohesion among public enterprises.
Beyond its policy and social objectives, the Forum has also proven to be a strong economic enabler. Previous host towns have seen notable commercial benefits, with local entrepreneurs and small businesses flourishing from the influx of delegates and
activities. Walvis Bay is expected to experience a similar boost in hospitality, transport, retail, and other sectors, reinforcing the Forum’s positive multiplier effect on the national economy.
All CEOs of gazetted public enterprises are formally invited to attend and participate in what is expected to be one of the most impactful and inclusive forums to date. Co- sponsors for the forum and SOE games for 2025 are the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority and the Namibia Airports Company.
