Zambian president calls for deepening ties with Egypt

LUSAKA, Oct. 16– Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema on Wednesday called for further deepening cooperation with Egypt. While acknowledging the warm bilateral relations between the two countries over the years, the Zambian president said there was a need to deepen the cooperation. When outgoing Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia Moataz Anwar paid a courtesy call on him, Hichilema said Zambia sought deepened relations in agriculture, health and technology, according to Zambia News and Information Service, the state-run news agency. Zambia wanted to learn from Egypt on how the country has managed to utilize its water resources to drive industrialization and the agriculture sector, Hichilema was quoted as saying.
