Windhoek, August 28- In a digital era where communicating devices are integral to governance and corporation, the line between convenience and security vulnerability has become perilously thin. In Namibia, recent moves by the government to tighten security protocols have sparked debate between privacy and national security.
According to the source, the government seeking to impliment the said directive that requiring all cabinet ministers and senior officers to surrender their cellphones before meetings. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah reportedly enforced the rule to curb information leaks from high level government meetings to protect the state secrets. This state directive is not entirely new it first emerged lasyt year, in April 2024 but did not make headlines at the time, and discussions about it were subsequently shelved. Now it has resurfaced, gatekeepers in security.
