MEXICO CITY, June 15 — Uruguay’s trip to the United States for its opening FIFA World Cup match against Saudi Arabia was delayed due to an administrative error, according to local media reports. The South American team was due to fly from its training camp in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, at 2 p.m. on Sunday but was forced to wait because of incomplete paperwork required by U.S. authorities, Uruguayan newspaper El Pais reported. It said the squad finally departed three hours later than originally planned. Uruguay and Saudi Arabia are due to meet in their opening Group H match in Miami on Monday. It was not immediately clear if Uruguay would arrive in time for a mandatory pre-match press conference involving manager Marcelo Bielsa and defender Jose Maria Gimenez.
