Trump says Taiwan should pay for protection, U.S. State Dept spokesperson responds

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Taiwan should “pay” for U.S. protection in an interview with Bloomberg. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller responded that the U.S. sells military equipment to Taiwan for billions of dollars so it’s not “charity”.
