Tenebix School of Excellence Supports Namibia’s Cybersecurity Awareness Through National Competition

Windhoek, Namibia — 7 October 2026: Tenebix School of Excellence participated as a sponsor in the Namibia National Cybersecurity Competition, held at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) from 2 to 3 October 2026. The two-day event brought together students, educators, technology enthusiasts and industry stakeholders with a shared goal of promoting cybersecurity awareness and developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals in Namibia.

The event was a success, with students demonstrating strong enthusiasm and interest in cybersecurity-related topics and career opportunities. Of particular interest was the range of industry-recognised cybersecurity certifications and training programmes offered by Tenebix School of Excellence, highlighting the growing appetite among young Namibians to acquire practical skills and professional qualifications in the cybersecurity field.

For Tenebix, the competition provided an important opportunity to engage directly with students and encourage them to consider cybersecurity not only as a technical discipline, but also as an increasingly important career path. As Namibia continues to embrace digital transformation, the need for skilled cybersecurity professionals is becoming more critical across government, business, education, financial services and other sectors.

As a sponsor of the event, Tenebix School of Excellence believes that initiatives such as the Namibia National Cybersecurity Competition play a vital role in creating awareness and encouraging young people to take an active interest in digital safety. Cybersecurity is no longer the responsibility of technology professionals alone. Every internet user has a role to play in protecting personal information, online accounts, organisations and digital infrastructure.

The growing use of digital services also means that Namibians are increasingly exposed to threats such as phishing, online fraud, social engineering, identity theft and other forms of cybercrime. Continuous education and awareness are therefore essential to building a safer and more resilient digital society.

Tenebix encourages the continued organisation and expansion of cybersecurity competitions, awareness campaigns, school programmes, workshops and skills-development initiatives across Namibia. Such programmes provide students with valuable exposure, help identify emerging talent and create pathways towards further education and professional careers in cybersecurity.

The school further believes that building a cyber-resilient Namibia requires collaboration between educational institutions, government, industry, technology professionals and communities. By investing in cybersecurity education and awareness today, Namibia can develop a generation of digitally responsible citizens and highly skilled cybersecurity professionals capable of protecting the country’s growing digital ecosystem.

The enthusiasm displayed by students at the competition is an encouraging indication of the potential that exists among Namibia’s youth. Tenebix School of Excellence remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote cybersecurity awareness, develop practical skills and inspire young Namibians to pursue careers in this rapidly evolving field.

The successful competition demonstrates that when stakeholders work together, meaningful progress can be made towards creating a more informed, secure and cyber-resilient Namibia.
