On 11 November 2025, the Deputy Minister of MEIYSAC, Hon. Dino Ballotti, officially launched the Special Olympics Unified Coach Training Program, a collaborative initiative between the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and Special Olympics Namibia.
This impactful program will run throughout November 2025, training 100 coaches across three Namibian towns, and will culminate in a Unified Practical Tournament showcasing the inclusive spirit, skills, and teamwork fostered through the training.
Hon. Ballotti said that the Ministry has publicly articulated a clear stance in favor of inclusion in sports and views sport not merely as competition, but as part of a broader educational and developmental agenda.
