Windhoek, Jan 25 — South African President H. E Cyril Ramaphosa has signed the expropriation bill into law that now legalize the expropriation of land without compensation in South Africa. The bill will make expropriation possible in instance which is appropriate in the public interest.
Ramaphosa’s action did not seat well with some opposition parties including those who form part of the Government of National Unity (GNU) such as DA, FF Plus, IFP and many others. Spoke person in the presidency Vincent Magwenya said ”The bill which went through public consultation and parliament deliberation, aligns legislation on expropriation with the constitution”.
