LUSAKA, Jan. 19 — At least 2,011 people were killed and 6,027 seriously injured in road traffic accidents in Zambia in 2023, police said on Thursday. The country recorded a total of 36,755 road traffic accidents with 3,509 of them being serious ones, said Rae Hamoonga, a spokesman for the police. The figure represents a big jump from 33,682 accidents recorded in 2022, he said.
