Pakistan’s technology exports reach record 4.6 billion USD in FY26

ISLAMABAD, July 19 — Pakistan’s technology exports reached a record 4.6 billion U.S. dollars in the fiscal year 2025-26, marking a 21-percent year-on-year increase, the Finance Ministry said on Saturday. Technology exports totaled 416 million dollars in June 2026, up 12 percent from the previous month and 23 percent compared with the same period last year, the ministry said in a statement. The strong performance highlights the growing contribution of Pakistan’s information technology, software development and IT-enabled services sectors, as demand for digital solutions continues to expand in international markets, the statement added. The technology sector has emerged as a key source of foreign exchange earnings while creating skilled employment opportunities, attracting investment and supporting the country’s transition toward a knowledge-based, export-oriented economy, the ministry said. The measures are expected to further strengthen Pakistan’s technology ecosystem and enhance the country’s competitiveness in global digital markets, supporting sustainable export-led economic growth, the statement added.
