ACCRA, July 21 — The 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season will kick off in the first week of September, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed on Monday.
According to the GFA, the new season will begin across all league venues on September 4-7 and conclude over the weekend of May 28-31, 2027. In a statement, the GFA said the approved schedule reflects its commitment to aligning Ghana’s domestic football calendar with FIFA’s calendar for member associations, ensuring the timely completion of the season while improving planning, competitiveness, and operational efficiency. The GFA said that the Premier League matches will be played on weekends, with midweek dates reserved for postponed fixtures.
The association also reaffirmed its commitment to successfully implementing the new calendar and delivering a well-organized, competitive and exciting season for clubs, players, officials, partners and supporters across the country.
