Netanyahu says spoke with Trump over phone, vows to protect Israel’s “vital interests”

JERUSALEM, March 23 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday in a video statement that he will “safeguard Israel’s vital interests in any situation,” following his phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump said earlier in the day that Washington had reached “major points of agreement” with Iran and is in contact with “a top person.”
