Namibian Government postpones Unveiling and Inauguration of Hosea Kutako Museum and Memorial Shrine

Windhoek, Nov 6 — The Government of the Republic of Namibia today announced the postponement of the Unveiling and Inauguration of the Hosea Kutako Museum and Memorial Shrine that was scheduled to take place at Toasis in the Aminius Constituency on the 8th of November 2024. The event will now be shifted to 10 December 2024.

The Shrine which is set to be unveiled by H.E President Nangolo Mbumba captures the historical journey of one of Namibia’s most revered leaders and a pivotal figure in the country’s liberation struggle for independence. The shrine, constructed on the direction of the late President, His Excellency Dr. Hage G. Geingob to honour Chief Hosea Kutako’s contribution to Namibia’s liberation struggle, symbolises resilience and hope.

Chief Hosea Kutako was one of Namibia’s prominent political leaders and was key figure in advocating for the rights of the Namibian people under the then South African colonial regime. He died in the 1970s.
