Francistown, Sept 9 – Namibia thrashed Sao Tome and Príncipe 3-0 to collect maximum points in the Match day 8 FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana.
Namibia dominated the game from the first minutes of the games but could not find the target in the first 30 minutes of the game. Namibia Captain Peter Shalulile scored the opening goal in the 40th minute of the game with an assist from Haland. Shalulile scored a brace in the 73rd minutes of the second half before registering his hatrick in the dying minutes of the game with a bicycle kick.
Sao Tome and Príncipe coach, Monsanto Ricardo complain about the difficulties of getting his team to arrive in Botswana as half of his team flew from Rome with the others have to fly from Paris, however he is proud of his young players performance and feels the future is bright.
