Namibia move up to 97th in FIFA world rankings

WINDHOEK, June 24– Namibia’s national football team has moved nine places up FIFA’s world rankings to 97.
The rankings, released on Thursday, reflect Namibia’s performance at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where the team reached the round of 16 for the first time, the Namibia Football Association (NFA) stated on its website.
Namibia are currently competing for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They have been placed in Group H of the African qualifiers alongside Tunisia, Sao Tome and Principe, Liberia, Malawi and Equatorial Guinea.
The journey so far has seen Namibia secure crucial results, including victories over Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe.
Recent results saw the team draw 1-1 with Liberia and 0-0 against Tunisia in June at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
