Windhoek, June 26 — Namibian nation mourns the demise of Former Minister of Works, Transport, and Communication, Moses Amweelo, who died on Monday 24 June 2025 at the age of 73 after a long battle with cancer.
“It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that the Amweelo family confirms the passing of Dr. Moses Amweelo, former Minister of Works and Transport, former SWAPO Party Chief Whip in the National Assembly, and respected academic. Beyond his official roles, Dr. Amweelo was a dedicated family man, a mentor to many, and a proud servant of the Namibian people.” reads the statement from the family.
Amweelo was Born on 25 May 1952 in Okatana, Oshana Region. Moses Amweelo became a member of the National Assembly in 2000 and went on to serve as Minister of Works, Transport, and Communication.
