KIGALI, July 13 — Kenya’s Karan Patel and his co-driver Tauseef Khan won the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally following a Day Three stage victory in Bugesera district of the Eastern Province on Sunday.
The Kenyan crew won the race in two hours, 13 minutes and 18 seconds, followed by Tanzania’s Huwel Ahmed and his co-driver Solanki Roheet in second place with a time of two hours, 20 minutes and 48 seconds. “Coming to the event, we were definitely hungry for a win, given the failure we had last year. We really knew that this was something we had to put our best into, so we pushed hard from the start. From the very first stage, we pushed as hard as we could and managed to secure a good cushion and a good lead,” Patel said after the win. The Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally is one of four official rounds of the 2026 FIA African Rally Championship.
