JERUSALEM, July 1 — Israeli police said in a statement Tuesday that they had arrested a U.S. citizen around 20 years old on suspicion of carrying out espionage missions for Iranian intelligence. Israeli police claimed the suspect, arrested three weeks ago, had been in contact with operators on behalf of Iranian intelligence agencies and carried out documentation and photography missions of sensitive sites for them. The police said they have completed the investigation against the suspect, who will soon face charges of contacting a foreign agent and undermining national security. The suspect earned tens to hundreds of U.S. dollars per task, it added.
