LONDON, Sept. 1 — An outbreak of the highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 was confirmed in poultry at a premise in Exminster, a village in southwestern England, the British government said Sunday. A 3 km protection zone and a 10 km surveillance zone have been set up around the site, said the government, adding that all poultry on the premises will be humanely culled.
