Deputy Minister Dino Balloti Highlights Success at 17th Bank Windhoek Namibia Volleyball Federation Cup

On 12 October 2025, Honorable Dino Balloti, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture (MEIYSAC), attended the closing ceremony of the 17th Bank Windhoek Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) Cup. The two day tournament, held from 11 to 12 October at Ramatex Hall in Windhoek, brought together top volleyball teams from across Namibia, showcasing the country’s growing talent and competitive spirit.

The tournament was meticulously organized by the Namibia Volleyball Federation, with strong support from sponsors including Bank Windhoek. The event featured both men’s and women’s divisions, with rigorous matches that drew enthusiastic crowds and highlighted the sport’s rising popularity nationwide.

In the men’s division, Nampower Volleyball Club claimed the championship title after a series of decisive victories, demonstrating skill and resilience. Brutal Pack Volleyball Club finished second, closing the gap with competitive play, while the Namibian Navy secured third place, showcasing discipline and teamwork. The women’s competition was equally intense, with Blaze Aces Volleyball Club taking first place through strategic gameplay. Afrocat Ladies Volleyball Club finished second with strong defense and agility while DTS Volleyball Club earned third place, marking a notable achievement for their team.

Mr. Haipa Tulipuye, one of best attacker of Nampower Volleyball Club, praised the tournament, saying, “The event was a success and an eye-opener, representing a new journey for both myself and the club. Our team started modestly but that energized us to push further. Every victory motivated us until we proudly lifted the cup. I am very proud of our team and all the participating clubs, which shows that volleyball remains a lively and thriving sport in Namibia.”

NVF President Mr. Tobias Eden Mwatelulo applauded the level of competition, stating, “This edition of the NVF Cup has been a testament to the talent and dedication across our volleyball community. We are committed to growing the sport at all levels and providing opportunities that inspire athletes to reach their full potential.”

Namibia Sport Commissioner Mr. Simataa Mwiya highlighted the tournament’s role in youth development: “Events like the NVF Cup foster teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among our youth, aligning with national goals to promote active and healthy lifestyles.”

Blaze Aces’ captain, Ms. Anina Ndjamba, expressed pride in her team’s achievement: “Winning the women’s division is the result of hard work and unity. We are motivated to defend our title and continue raising the standard of women’s volleyball in Namibia.”

The tournament attracted prominent figures from Namibia’s sports community, including former NVF President Mr. Hillary Imbuwa and other key stakeholders, underscoring the event’s significance in promoting volleyball’s growth.

The successful staging of the 17th NVF Cup highlights Namibia’s ongoing commitment to advancing volleyball, fostering talent, and providing a platform for athletes to compete at higher levels.
