Congo to host first Central African state-owned enterprises forum

BRAZZAVILLE, Feb. 11 — The Republic of the Congo will host the first Central African State-Owned Enterprises Forum from Feb. 12 to 14, in Brazzaville, the capital. Organized by the World Bank and private partners, the forum, which will gather government authorities, leaders of both public and private enterprises, as well as experts, aims to establish a framework for dialogue and exchange on the governance of state-owned enterprises in Central Africa, seizing opportunities for financing within public-private partnerships. During the forum, discussions will cover various themes, including governance challenges faced by enterprises, legal mechanisms, initiatives to enhance the performance of state-owned enterprises, and their contribution to sustainable and inclusive development. The forum will delve into different financing mechanisms for public enterprises, innovations in social and environmental responsibility, as well as approaches to managing budgetary risks.
