Windhoek, The Bank of Namibia yesterday announced the launch of the Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob Commemorative Bank note, an enduring tribute to the life, legacy and unparalleled contributions of the late former president of the Republic of Namibia, H.E Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob. Bank of Namibia Governor Johannes ǃGawaxab said ”the Dr. Hage G. Geingob Commemorative Banknote has been thoughtfully crafted to honour Dr. Geingob’s unwavering leadership and lifelong dedication to peace, inclusivity, and resilience”. ǃGawaxab said this unique banknote not only commemorates his remarkable achievements but also celebrates Namibia’s progress as a nation shaped by his visionary leadership. The banknote also serves as a symbol of national pride, an educational tool for the future generations, and a lasting reminder of the values he so passionately upheld. President Geingob died on 4 February 2024 after battling with cancer. The banknote will be unveiled on 10 February 2025.
