Arsenal goes back to top of Premier League, Foden nets hat-trick for City.

LONDON, April 4-- Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League on Wednesday for at least 24 hours with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Luton Town.
Mikel Arteta's side didn't need to get into top gear against a rival hit by injuries, with Kai Havertz sending the ball across the penalty area for Martin Odegaard to side-foot home after 24 minutes.
The game was over as a contest when Daiki Hashioka put the ball into his own net while attempting to cut out a cross from Emile Smith Rowe in the 44th minute, and Arsenal controlled the second half to see out the win.
Phil Foden scored a hat-trick as Manchester City also kept up the pressure at the top of the table with a 4-1 win at home to Aston Villa.
Rodri put Manchester City ahead in the 11th minute, but Villa pulled level after a well-worked goal from Jhon Duran.
Foden scored his first goal with a free kick through Villa's defensive wall in first-half injury time, and added to his tally with well-taken goals on 62 and 69 minutes.

City coach Pep Guardiola was also able to rest Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland with one eye on Saturday's visit to Crystal Palace and his side's Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid on April 9.
Brentford edged a point closer to avoiding relegation with a 0-0 draw at home to Brighton. The visitors were denied a penalty at the end of the first half when the referee decided to ignore a VAR review.
Tuesday's games saw Newcastle United and Everton draw 1-1, while Burnley and Wolves finished their encounter with the same scoreline.
West Ham United and Tottenham also shared the points as they drew 1-1 in the London Stadium, while Nottingham Forest took a big 3-1 win at home to Fulham, and Bournemouth defeated Crystal Palace 1-0.
Liverpool will go back to the top of the table on Thursday if it beats Sheffield United, while Chelsea faces Manchester United.
