Ongwediva, July 5 – MTC has reaffirmed its commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation and national economic development through a sponsorship of N$350,000 towards the 2026 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF). In addition to the cash contribution, MTC provided over N$12,000 worth of airtime to support the organising committee’s preparations, as well as branded
merchandise valued at more than N$20,000 for the OATF personnel.
Tim Ekandjo, Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer at MTC, said the company’s continued support reflects its belief in the trade fair’s contribution to Namibia’s economic growth.
“The Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair continues to demonstrate the transformative power of partnerships in driving economic growth and creating opportunities for Namibian businesses. At MTC, we believe that investing in showcases like the OATF is an investment in entrepreneurs, innovation and the communities they serve. We are proud to reaffirm our support for a showcase that has, for 25 years, connected businesses, inspired enterprise and contributed meaningfully to Namibia’s economic
development,” said Ekandjo.
Welcoming guests, Her Worship Naemi Amuthenu, Mayor of Ongwediva Town, described the trade fair as “our economic heartbeat,” adding that sponsorships represent “an investment in business development, entrepreneurship, job creation, innovation and the future prosperity of our town and our country.”
Celebrating 25 years of exhibiting under the theme “A Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Economy,” this year’s gala underscored the shared commitment of government and the private sector to growing one of Namibia’s premier business showcases.
