Windhoek, July 3 — The One Economy Foundation says it will continue delivering essential services despite a 25 percent reduction in its operating budget following a funding cut from one of its major donors.
The funding reduction has resulted in the organisation reducing its permanent workforce from 37 to 25 employees. The Foundation says affected staff are receiving psychosocial support, financial wellbeing assistance, career transition services, and preferential consideration for future vacancies.
Despite the restructuring, the Foundation says its core programmes, including youth skills development, entrepreneurship, sexual and reproductive health services, mental health support, STEM education, and after-school care, will continue uninterrupted.
To strengthen its long-term sustainability, the Foundation is expanding income-generating initiatives, including renting out facilities at the #BeFree Campus, while also seeking new donor partnerships. Tickets are now on sale for the organisation’s Annual Fundraising Gala Dinner, scheduled for 1 October 2026.
The Foundation says it remains committed to supporting young people across Namibia and is confident that strong partnerships and innovation will help sustain its mission despite the challenging global funding environment.
