POLICE HOUSING PROJECT PROGRESSES WELL, SAYS MINISTER LUCIA IIPUMBU

Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Lucia Iipumbu, conducted an on-site inspection of the Police Village housing project in Otjomuise, Windhoek, on 11 September 2025. The project aims to provide much-needed accommodation for members of the Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL).

During the site visit, Minister Iipumbu expressed her satisfaction with the construction progress, particularly commending the completion of earthworks. She highlighted the critical importance of delivering quality housing benefits for police officers, which in turn supports the safety and well-being of the public.

The Minister urged NAMPOL to adhere strictly to the project timeline to ensure timely completion. She was accompanied by the Inspector-General of Police, Joseph Shikongo, and Deputy Inspector-General for Administration, Anne-Marie Nainda, underscoring the collaborative commitment towards enhancing police housing infrastructure.

This project marks a significant step towards improving living standards for law enforcement personnel, reinforcing the government’s dedication to supporting frontline officers in their vital role within the community.
