President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah Receives Farewell Visit from Finnish Ambassador

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah recently welcomed H.E. Leena Viljanen, the outgoing Ambassador of Finland to Namibia, for a farewell courtesy visit.

During their meeting, President Nandi-Ndaitwah praised Ambassador Viljanen for her important role in strengthening the already strong bilateral relations between Namibia and Finland. She highlighted how Ambassador Viljanen’s dedication helped facilitate high-level exchanges, including the 2023 State Visit by H.E. Sauli Niinistö, the former President of Finland.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah also acknowledged Finland’s valuable support in the fields of education and health in Namibia. With the recent discovery of oil in Namibia, she expressed optimism about future collaboration with Finland in the oil and gas sectors to foster development.

Ambassador Viljanen, in turn, congratulated President Nandi-Ndaitwah on her impressive achievements during the first hundred days of her presidency. She reaffirmed Finland’s readiness to partner with Namibia, especially in the energy and mining industries, to support the country’s growth.
