WINDHOEK, Dec. 3- Namibia‘s Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism said Wednesday that a fire broke out at Sesriem in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, about 288 km west of the capital city of Windhoek, destroying staff accommodations and killing a two-year-old boy. The fire occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the residential area of Namibia Wildlife Resorts staff and ministerial employees based at Sesriem Campsite and Sossus Dune Lodge, the ministry said in a statement, adding that no tourists or wildlife were harmed. This incident came two months after an uncontrolled wildfire scorched large parts of Etosha National Park, one of southern Africa’s largest game reserves. Namibia is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southern Africa, drawing hundreds of thousands of tourists annually with its desert landscape, wildlife reserves, and famous sites like Sossusvlei and Etosha.
