President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko has declared that Botswanaโs future must be defined by delivery, not excuses or endless planning.
Speaking at the Leadership Syndication Session of the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme (BTEP) Labs, President Boko said the nationโs transformation must now move from vision to execution.
โOur people cannot eat plans, they must see results. Excuses are no longer a currency in government. Delivery is the only measure of leadership,โ he said.
The President reaffirmed Botswanaโs โTrue Northโ to become a high-income, digitally enabled, export driven, people centered and diversified economy. Over twelve weeks, the BTEP Labs drew thousands of ideas, retaining only those with clear ownership and execution pathways.
Key outcomes include mapping the digital ecosystem, agricultural projects to boost food security and exports, and deliverables across tourism, energy, mining, healthcare, education and manufacturing.
The President stressed reforms in immigration, land, procurement, and state-owned enterprises to unlock investment and innovation. He urged ministers to deliver without delay, warning that โdelay is the enemy of transformation.โ
He praised private sector and development partners, calling them โinvaluable partners in transformation,โ and closed with a rallying call:
โLet us be remembered not for what we planned, but for what we delivered.โ
