On August 21, 2025, at the sidelines of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in Japan, SADC Executive Secretary H.E Elias M. Magosi met with the SADC Ambassadors accredited to Japan.
During the meeting, H.E Magosi briefed the Ambassadors on key outcomes from the recent SADC Council of Ministers meeting and the 45th SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government. He emphasized the need for the Ambassadors to proactively promote and advance the SADC regional integration agenda. The Executive Secretary highlighted that collective efforts and strong diplomatic engagement are essential to achieving the regional organization’s development and integration goals.
This engagement at TICAD 9 underscores the importance of international forums in promoting regional cooperation and strengthening partnerships, particularly between African countries and Japan. The TICAD platform continues to be significant for fostering dialogue and collaboration on Africa’s development.
