Her first engagement was at the Philadelphia International Produce Marketplace, where she toured the port operations and discussed enhancing trade capacity and opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation with local business leaders.
During her visit, President Nandi-Ndaitwah praised the Marketplace for its efficiency and its role in supporting farmers, businesses, and job creation. She expressed Namibia’s interest in learning from this model, particularly in how farmers can maximize the value of their produce and integrate into global supply chains.
Reflecting on her experience, the President noted the diverse range of fresh produce sourced from around the world, including cocoa from Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, and citrus from South Africa. She highlighted the potential for Namibian businesses to explore similar opportunities.
“From what I have seen here, there is much for us to learn—especially in how you organize your farmers. Our business community is eager to understand this process as we aim to expand agricultural production in Namibia. This visit represents an important exchange of knowledge. Through our Mission, we will continue to engage and seek ways to deepen our cooperation,” President Nandi-Ndaitwah stated.
Accompanied by a delegation of Namibian business leaders, the President reaffirmed her government’s commitment to advancing trade relations and fostering mutually beneficial growth.
