Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, opened the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, joining leaders from across the globe in addressing urgent climate challenges.
On Friday, 7 November 2025, President Nandi-Ndaitwah will deliver Namibia’s National Statement, reaffirming the country’s steadfast dedication to the Paris Agreement and advancing its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
Beyond the plenary, the President is actively engaging in Thematic Session 2 on Energy Transition and Thematic Session 3 focusing on Ten Years of the Paris Agreement, NDCs, and financing—both chaired by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Her schedule also includes a High-Level Round-Table on Energy Transition and bilateral discussions with other Heads of State to forge stronger partnerships in climate resilience and sustainable development.
Namibia’s visible role at COP30 highlights its leadership in promoting sustainable growth, driving green industrialisation, and contributing to global climate solutions for a more resilient and inclusive future.
