Namibian President takes charge of Key Ministry after Firing Minister

Windhoek, Oct 26 – Her Excellency, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah President of the Republic of Namibia is expected to engage the staff members of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy on Monday 27 October 2025. The meeting will take place a day after Paulus Natangwe Ithete, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy was relieved of his duty on Sunday 26 October 2025. The Presidency said ”In the interest of ensuring continuity and affective coordination within this key sector, President Nandi-Ndaitwah will assume responsibility for the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy, effective Immediately. The President has not revealed the reason for termination of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy’s contract.
