On the sidelines of the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Belém, Federative Republic of Brazil, President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah held bilateral meetings with her counterparts from Finland and Mr. Yvan Gil Pinto, Minister of Foreigm Affairs Venezuela.
The meeting with Finland reaffirmed the longstanding partnership and shared commitment to sustainable development between the two nations. Discussions focused on advancing joint climate action, including Namibia’s bid to host a Green Climate Fund Regional Hub, as well as enhancing cooperation within international peace and security frameworks.
In her engagement with Venezuela, the President explored opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand areas of mutual interest. Talks centred on climate collaboration, support for Namibia’s Green Climate Fund Regional Hub proposal, and promoting effective international policing and security cooperation.
