Windhoek, May 11 –On this special day of mothers, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said ”Namibians should pause to reflect about what they owe mothers for the gift of life, which only mothers can give.” Mother’s Day 2025 is a special occasion to sincerely remind ourselves about the unique and extraordinary
role mothers play in our lives from the moment we are born. With the innate love and compassion, they are born with, mothers care, they nurture and they protect and guide as we go through the challenges of growing up. As primary caregivers, they are pivotal in moulding personality, strengthening social cohesion and the promotion of a caring Namibia.
Today, is a day of love and giving to our mothers as anchors of our families. However, it is also a call to action to value mothers and to protect them against all forms of Gender-Based Violence, which has the potential to erode the social fabric of our society. The 8th
Administration will spare no effort to strengthen initiatives that guarantee the health and safety of mothers, including the child.
On Mother’s Day, let us reward and reciprocate our mothers with protection, love and compassion, which they generously offer us individually and the nation at large.
