Windhoek, April 14 — President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah today received a courtesy visit from H.E. Zhao Weiping, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Namibia. During the visit, Ambassador Weiping conveyed a congratulatory message from H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, on President Nandi-Ndaitwah’s inauguration as the 5th President of the Republic of Namibia.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation to President Xi Jinping for being among the first Heads of State to extend congratulations following her election and for sending a special envoy to attend Namibia’s 35th Independence Anniversary. Noting that the gesture is a clear demonstration of a strong bilateral relation between the two countries. President Nandi-Ndaitwah further emphasised that Namibia will continue working together with China based on mutual benefits.
On his part, Ambassador Weiping reaffirmed that the government of the People’s Republic of China looks forward to strengthening the bilateral relation between the two countries and providing necessary support where necessary.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah further noted that Namibia is ready to contribute to the international agenda for the benefit of humanity.
