Lao president to visit Russia

VIENTIANE, May 6 —- Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith will, at the invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, lead a high-level delegation to pay a working visit to Russia from May 7 to 11.
According to a press release issued by Laos’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the visit aims to enhance the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and mark the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Amity between Laos and Russia.
During his visit, the Lao president will also attend a commemoration ceremony to mark the 79th anniversary of the Soviet victory in the Great Patriotic War from 1941 to 1945.
