Cameroon’s Eseme wins men’s 100m gold at 13th African Games

ACCRA, March 20– Emmanuel Alobwede Eseme of Cameroon on Tuesday clinched the men’s 100m gold at the 13th African Games in the Ghanaian capital of Accra. Despite a slow start, the 30-year-old sprinter surged past his rivals to emerge victorious in 10.14 seconds. Nigerian sprinter Usheoritse Itsekiri took the silver in 10.23 seconds, while Gilbert Hainuca of Namibia got the bronze in 10.29 seconds. Despite the huge support from the vociferous home crowd, Ghana’s Benjamin Azamati finished fifth in 10.45 seconds.
