Namibian Youth attend World Youth Festival in Russia.

Windhoek, March 13 –Namibia’s Deputy Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service, Hon. Emma Kantema-Goamas, led a delegation of 90 young people to participate in the World Youth Festival (WYF) 2024 in Sochi, Russia. The event, held by the Russian Federation Government, is the largest youth event globally, hosting 20,000 young Russian and foreign leaders.

The festival covers various fields, including business, media, international cooperation, culture, science, education, volunteering, charity, sports, and public life. During the Vll Global Forum of Young Diplomats, Deputy Minister Kantema-Goamas discussed the four pillars of the National Youth Policy, aiming to empower young Namibians to achieve their full potential. Namibia is committed to transforming the youth bulge into opportunities, focusing on implementing the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and fostering entrepreneurial atmospheres. The Russia-Africa partnership plays a critical role in this developmental journey, with collaborations in education, technical training, and cultural exchange programs.
