RABAT, Feb. 16 — Morocco has climbed from 13th to 12th spot in the latest FIFA world ranking released on Thursday. The Atlas Lions maintained their position at the top of the continental peaking, followed by Senegal (17th), Nigeria (28th), Egypt (36th) and Cote d’Ivoire (39th). Teams that participated in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 made good improvements, Angola on top, climbing 24 spots to 93rd, Nigeria, the beaten finalists in the AFCON 2023, surged up 14 places to 28th, as for the African champion Cote d’Ivoire, they climbed ten places to 39th. Other African teams made great improvements including Equatorial Guinea (79th, up 9), South Africa (58th, up 8), Cabo Verde (65th, up 8), Namibia (107th, up 8), and Mali (47th, up 4). As for the world peaking, Argentina still at the top followed by France, England, Belgium and Brazil. The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Croatia complete the top 10.
