Windhoek, Sep 1 — Residents and businesses in Windhoek will pay more for electricity from today, 1 September 2026, following an average 3.6% tariff adjustment for the 2026/27 financial year.
The adjustment has been approved by the Electricity Control Board (ECB) in accordance with the Electricity Act, 2007.
The City of Windhoek says the increase is necessary to maintain a secure, reliable and high-quality electricity supply, while supporting infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and growing electricity demand.
The City says it remains committed to keeping electricity as affordable as possible and ensuring the long-term sustainability of electricity services.
