National Collaborative Board of Namibia clarifies false allegations on Humanitarian Food Donations

Windhoek, June 26 – The National Collaborative Board of Namibia (NCBN) has noted with serious concern the allegations circulating in the public claiming that the organization and its leadership have mismanaged approximately 800 cans of fish.

In a statement issued by the President of National Collaborative Board Namibia Mr. Ingashipola Lucas, on behalf of NCBN, the organization wishes to categorically states that these allegations are false, misleading and without factual basis. The canned fish in question is not Government drought relief food. The stock belongs to NCBN and forms part of the organization’s humanitarian interventions.

At this stage, no public distribution programme has been launched, onced the organization finalizes the distribution process, an official announcement will be made through NCBN’s official communication channels. We therefore urge members of the public to refrain from visiting our offices requesting Government canned fish, as these food items are not Government property.

Furthermore, NCBN strongly condemns the use of defamatory language directered at its leaders. We respectivefully call upon members of the public to refrain from refering to NCBN leaders as “currupt” or “thieves” without credible evidence. Making false and defamatory statements against individuals or the organization may expose those responsible to legal consequences under the laws of the Republic of Namibia.

NCBN remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the responsible management of the its humanitarian resources. We encourage the public to seek accurate information through our official communication channels and to avoid spreading unverified allegations that may damage the reputation of the organization and its Leadership. We appreciate the public ‘s understanding and continued support as we work to serve communities across Namibia.
