Namibia hosts 2026 MTC Branding and Marketing Indaba

Windhoek, April 8 – The second edition of the MTC Branding and Marketing Indaba has officially commenced in Windhoek, Namibia representing a significant milestone in the advancement of Namibia’s branding, marketing, and communications industry. Under the theme “Marketing from the Heart,” this three-day event has drawn over 400 delegates from across Namibia and the broader African continent.

Purpose and Theme

Positioned as one of Africa’s rapidly emerging platforms for the branding and marketing community, the Indaba serves as a convergence point for storytellers, industry leaders, and innovators. The participants are dedicated to enhancing best practices within the field. The event will host dynamic discussions focused on authentic storytelling, the creation of impactful brands, and the enhancement of communication strategies within an ever-shifting digital environment.

Keynote Insights

Tim Ekandjo, MTC’s Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications, and Sustainability Officer, emphasized the necessity of crafting and owning narratives that influence global perceptions of Africa, its nations, and businesses. He stated:

Ekandjo further highlighted MTC’s commitment to creating a platform that benefits not only Namibia but the entire continent.

Goals and Future Vision

“This Indaba will, without a doubt, become Africa’s premier branding and marketing platform within the next two years—built in Namibia, but serving the continent with pride. We encourage delegates to learn as much as possible over these three days and return to transform how their organisations and institutions operate.”

Ekandjo also urged industry experts to form a formal Branding, Marketing, and Communications body to lead Namibia’s professional agenda, with MTC expressing readiness to support and co-fund such initiatives to professionalize the industry.

Hon. Emma Theofelus, Namibia’s Minister of Information, and Communication Technology praised MTC for establishing this platform and motivated delegates to take ownership of their voice and contribute to strengthening Brand Namibia.

Speaker Lineup and Activities

With a roster of 21 expert speakers from Namibia, Zambia, Kenya, Botswana, South Africa, Malawi, Ghana, and Zimbabwe, the Indaba promises to be a hub for knowledge-sharing and a venue for fostering meaningful connections among professionals shaping Africa’s brand narrative. Attendees will gain insights from experienced experts, exchange ideas, and explore innovative approaches to excelling in their roles as brand custodians and communicators.

Conclusion and Awards Ceremony

The summit will culminate with a Gala Dinner on the evening of 10 April 2026, featuring, for the first time, an Excellence Awards Ceremony. This event will recognize outstanding professionals in the fields of branding, marketing, communications, and advertising, further solidifying the Indaba’s role in celebrating and advancing excellence in the industry.
